The University of California, Irvine, is restoring an indoor mask mandate today.

The university announced Friday that “all individuals on campus will be required to wear a mask or face covering while indoors, regardless of vaccination status, except when alone in an enclosed space.” The university cited the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's finding that Orange County has a “high” rate of COVID-19 transmission.

The Los Angeles Times reported that the University of California, Los Angeles, restored its indoor mask mandate in June.
