Census Won't Ask About Citizenship

The Trump administration said it would print forms for the 2020 census without a question about citizenship, The New York Times reported. The Supreme Court blocked the Trump administration's efforts to add the question on the grounds that the reasons the Department of Commerce gave for the change were "incongruent with what the record reveals about the agency's priorities and decision-making process." Many social science groups opposed the addition of a question on citizenship, which they argued would discourage immigrants from responding and lead to an undercount of the U.S. population.
