A now ex-adjunct professor of economics at Utah Valley University admitted to students in the middle of a macroeconomics lecture that he had viewed child pornography and then apologized, according to a search warrant affidavit obtained by Deseret News. The December class was live-streamed. A recording of it was presented to campus police, who contacted the Department of Homeland Security. The professor resigned the day after the class, according to the affidavit.

The university confirmed the resignation this week, saying that the ex-professor had worked there since 2014. The man's home was searched last month. To date, the man has not been arrested or charged. He told students that he had seen child pornography but did not have a “library” of it, and "then stated that he wanted to change the world by admitting when we are wrong and that we can all be better people now and change,” the affidavit says.
