Bethune-Cookman University issued a press release Thursday that said 20 students "expressed their freedom of protest" during remarks by Education Secretary Betsy DeVos at commencement Wednesday while "300 students supported the secretary in her response." DeVos asked audience members to listen to one another's ideas, even when disagreeing.

The statement also said 13 students "were escorted out of the ceremony due to disruption." The press release differs notably from video of the event, which shows what appears to be a substantial majority of students turning their backs on DeVos, many of them booing her.
