The Oregon Court of Appeals has revived a lawsuit against the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity chapter at Oregon State University by a woman who was raped there, The Oregonian reported. A fraternity member has already been convicted in the rape, but the woman sued the chapter and the national fraternity, saying they should have done more to prevent rape in the house. A lower court dismissed those claims, but the appeals court revived the suit against the local chapter, but not the national organization. While the chapter maintains it took many steps to protect those at the house, including guests, the suit that will now go forward says that those policies were not always enforced and did not do enough.
