"Large sections" of a report by the Western outpost of the Brookings Institution appeared without appropriate credit in a report prepared by the Nevada System of Higher Education, The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported. A draft of the Brookings report had been circulated to the state system for comment on its ideas about math and science education and the STEM workforce. System officials said that they just jumped the gun on using the material prematurely. But email obtained by the newspaper suggests that Brookings officials were shocked to find their work turn up in the system report.
