The board of the College of DuPage, a community college outside Chicago, voted Tuesday evening to fire Robert Breuder as president, The Chicago Tribune reported. Breuder was already on leave, but the move means he will not receive most of the $763,000 severance package he negotiated. The board acted following an earlier vote to void the severance agreement. Breuder has denied wrongdoing but has been widely criticized for his spending and financial management decisions. Some have questioned the board's action, not out of a more positive view of Breuder, but predicting that he may now succeed in suing the college for voiding the contract it made with him.
