  • California's public universities need to do more to help community college students transfer, said a report issued Tuesday by the state Legislative Analyst's Office. The report said that inconsistencies in policies make it difficult for students to plan and to transfer.
  • Deborah Cavett has been named to lead the White House Initiative on Tribal Colleges and Universities, the Education Department announced Tuesday. Cavett was previously director of interagency initiatives at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, where she was the agency's contact for the tribal college initiative and the White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
