Arnold Schwarzenegger will soon submit a budget to the Legislature with enough money for the University of California and California State University systems to rescind tuition increases planned for the next academic year, the Associated Press reported. The tuition increases had been projected at 8 percent for undergraduates and 10 percent for graduate students.
  • The former chair of physical education at West Valley College, in California, entered a no contest plea this week on charges of embezzling $200,000 from the college, the AP reported. Diane Tsutsumi reportedly rented the college's tennis courts to private tennis instructors for use, and pocketed the money herself.
