The results are starting to come in and are proving to be quite interesting.

We opened a survey last week for people new to the higher education industry – defined as those having been “in the industry” for less than a year.  So far the respondents are coming mainly from the nonprofit side and the overwhelming majority are with four-year institutions.  Some very interesting comments, too – several quite uplifting, some venting frustration, and others expressing surprise at various aspects of higher ed.

We have a number of responses so far (can count them in tens), and are hoping for significantly more.  If you are new to higher education please take a few moments to fill out this short, seven question survey.  And if you know colleagues who are new to higher ed, please send them this post or a direct link to the survey (https://www.insidehighered.com/blogs/stratedgy/are-you-new-higher-ed).  All results will be reported without attribution.

Thanks for your help and we look forward to sharing the results soon. . . and, in the future, comparing the results to what more seasoned higher education veterans have to say.
