The ACT has added three new test dates for the fall and admitted that the June test was not given in ideal circumstances.

In September, when ACT was already scheduled for the 12th and 13th, ACT will add a Sept. 19 test date. In October, when the ACT is already scheduled for the 24th and 25th, ACT will add the 10th and 17th as test dates. ACT has also previously scheduled a Dec. 12 test date.

“Our commitment to providing students with safe opportunities to demonstrate what they know is a matter of mission for ACT,” said a statement from ACT CEO Janet Godwin. “An ACT score provides so much more than a tool for admissions. Scores also expose students to scholarships, and provide insights for course selection and career interest inspiration. Adding test dates reflects our commitment to addressing equity and access to testing, especially as so many have experienced disruption to living and learning during the pandemic.”

Godwin also said, "The June test date was by no means a 'normal' test date for students and test center staff. Not all test centers were open, and those that were underwent extra precautionary steps to social distance and adhere to CDC guidelines."

The College Board previously announced new fall dates for the SAT.
