The London School of Economics and Political Science is considering changing a sculpture of a globe after Mainland Chinese students protested that it did not depict Taiwan as part of China, The Telegraph reported. The sculpture depicts Taiwan as pink and China as yellow. Taiwan is in practice an independent state, but the government in Beijing considers it to be a rightful part of China.

“The artwork currently does not reflect our understanding of United Nations’ delineations that it was due to represent,” an LSE spokesperson said. “We are consulting our community and considering amendments to the work. No final decisions have been reached.”
