Hood College is debating a display set up by students in the Republican group there, The Frederick News-Post reported. Student groups at Hood take turns setting up a display behind a glass case in the student union. The Republican display, on view this week, includes images of Presidents Lincoln and Reagan. But the display is being criticized as violating anti-harassment rules because it also includes quotations suggesting that transgender people are mentally ill, and others that say, "Abortion is the number-one killer of black lives in the United States" and “"the most dangerous place for an African-American is in the womb."

Andrea Chapeldaine, the president at Hood, has invited students to a forum on the issue Tuesday. She also said that the college would review the messages in the display to determine if they violate college rules. The display is scheduled to come down Tuesday in a regular rotation, having nothing to do with the controversy.
