  • Colby College: Rajiv Shah, administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development.
  • Fashion Institute of Technology: Aerin Lauder, senior vice president and creative director for Estée Lauder, and Tony Hsieh, chief executive officer of Zappos.com.
  • Greensboro College: Navy Cmdr. Porter Halyburton (Ret.), a decorated U.S. Navy officer held prisoner for more than seven years by the North Vietnamese.
  • Knox College: Majora Carter, an "eco-entrepreneur" and host of the public radio show "The Promised Land."
  • Mount Ida College: Margaret A. McKenna, president of the Walmart Foundation, and former president of Lesley College.
  • New School: Frank Rich, the columnist.
  • Robert Morris University: For graduate ceremony, Robin Renee Sanders, former U.S. ambassador to Nigeria. For undergraduate ceremony, Richard Harshman, president, chairman and CEO of Allegheny Technologies Inc.
  • Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville: Clinton R. Van Zandt, hostage negotiator and author.
  • Southern New Hampshire University: Jon Huntsman, former U.S. ambassador to China and former governor of Utah.
  • Southern Polytechnic State University: Shan Cooper, vice president of Lockheed Martin Aeronautics.
  • Tufts University: Charles M. Vest, president of the National Academy of Engineering and president emeritus of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
  • Wagner College: Kenneth T. Jackson, the Jacques Barzun Professor of History and the Social Sciences and director of the Herbert H. Lehman Center for American History at Columbia University.
