The Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges, without public explanation, has rejected the last appeal from the City College of San Francisco over the accreditor's plan to withdraw recognition of the college. But The San Francisco Chronicle reported that the college is shifting its accreditation strategy. The college has notified the accreditor that because of a range of changes in the curriculum and the way it is delivered, the institution has filed a notice that it has made "substantive changes" that require a new accreditation review. That new review, officials hope, would replace the last one, which led to the plan to withdraw recognition.
