We reported on New Year's Eve about Lake Superior State University's latest "List of Words Banished from the Queen’s English for Mis-use, Over-use and General Uselessness." On Twitter we asked which words academics might do without. Among the nominations: alignment, narrative, disruption, stakeholders, and strategic plan. One person nominated "trigger warning" and asked "does that require a trigger warning?" Another nominated "low-income," as in students, calling the phrase "a euphemism to avoid mentioning the devastation of deep poverty."
