Southwestern Michigan Faculty Criticize Closed Search

Faculty members at Southwestern Michigan College are criticizing the board for doing a presidential search that is limited to those at the college, MLive.com reported.

The board said that spending money on a national search was wasteful, and there was no reason to believe that an outside candidate would be better than an internal candidate. The faculty association said that a national search would be appropriate.
