Paths to Institutional Prosperity at a Time of Constrained Resources

This webcast, featuring Inside Higher Ed Editors Doug Lederman and Scott Jaschik, will explore the various forms of partnerships and cross-institutional collaborations that some colleges and universities are embracing to strengthen their short-, mid- and long-term sustainability.

Colleges and universities of all kinds face a barrage of demographic, economic and other pressures, and many are likely to find themselves -- to one degree or another -- under intensifying financial strain. Using those challenges as a backdrop, this webcast, featuring Inside Higher Ed Editors Doug Lederman and Scott Jaschik, will examine some of the strategies colleges and universities are embracing to strengthen their short-, mid- and long-term sustainability.

In particular, the webcast will explore the various forms of partnerships and cross-institutional collaborations, from longstanding approaches such as consortiums and buying collaboratives to emergent strategic alliances such as public-private partnerships and supporting organizations. Join us to learn about the ways in which these partnerships and collaborations can benefit institutions in the following areas:

  • Provide access to in-demand resources, services and personnel that institutions -- especially small- to mid-sized ones -- have difficulty obtaining in an increasingly competitive marketplace
  • Keep pace with the rising costs of maintaining a robust workforce
  • Leverage economies of scale to optimize their budgets
  • Serve as an alternative to merging with a larger institution in order to retain their independence and identity

Can't attend the webcast? You should still register -- all registrants, including attendees and absentees, will receive a recording of the webcast and a copy of the presentation slides.
