In 2011 the University of Washington had a complex and difficult to maintain learning management landscape. Faced with increasing demand to improve the LMS experience for students and faculty, the UW launched a one-year pilot of Canvas by Instructure. The pilot provided compelling results that subsequently led UW to standardize on Canvas across all three UW campuses.
