Rutgers University will pay $300,000 to settle a lawsuit brought by a former men's basketball player who said he was mistreated by the team's former head coach. The coach, Mike Rice, was fired in 2013 for abusing players, including hurling balls at their heads and referring to players using antigay slurs.
In the settlement, obtained by NJ Civil Settlements, Rutgers said it admitted no wrongdoing.
