Cartoon Caption Contest

Cartoon Caption Contest

Welcome to Inside Higher Ed's monthly Cartoon Caption Contest, featuring the work of Matthew Henry Hall. Each month, we will invite readers to suggest an apt, clever, funny or otherwise outstanding caption for a new cartoon; submissions can be made in the comments section below that cartoon or, if you insist, via e-mail at newsroom@insidehighered.com. (Readers are encouraged to like or endorse their favorites in the comments section, too.)

Vote for your favorite caption for last month's cartoon

And the Winner is...

Congratulations to the winner of our May contest, David Nemeth, a professor in the department of geography and planning at the University of Toledo. His caption for the cartoon at left -- "And who might have imagined that I, a humble slug from Chernobyl, would some day achieve this honor ... " -- received the most votes from our readers. He will receive an Amazon gift certificate and a copy of the cartoon signed by the artist, Matthew Henry Hall.
