Funny, but...

I’m not saying this isn’t funny, but I feel obliged to point out that many ABDs are suffering severe emotional distress because of their situations, and this could really ruin an ABD’s day...

no guarantee

As many of us adjuncts with Ph.D.s unfortunately know, finishing your degree is no guarantee of a full-time, tenure-track job with benefits.

not even funny

And I thought the Chronicle of Higher Education was the most depressing publication out there. This is just trying to create a negative stereotype for no reason.

ABD is not a Terminal Degree

Its disturbing to find out that many intellectually capable individuals actually do remain as ABDs.

I am ABD and intend on becoming a PhD this Spring. There seems to be a position that you must pay your dues to get the terminal PhD.

Upon becoming ABD either you pay (blood, sweat, and so many tears) writing the proposal or in completing the research.

GOD bless all the ABDs on their way to becoming PhDs!!!
