The City University of New York on Wednesday announced a systemwide program to evaluate the transcripts of all of those who transfer from one of CUNY's community colleges to one of its four-year colleges. If transcript analysis indicates that the students qualify for an associate degree, even based on courses completed after transfer, they will receive an associate degree from the community college at which they started. Such efforts are spreading, because many who do transfer do not necessarily complete an associate degree first.
