As reported in Inside Higher Ed, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s catalog of publicly available massively open online courses is typically marketed to non-MIT learners. Last fall, however, the university offered the MOOC version of a popular class to on-campus students, for credit, in an attempt to help students facing scheduling issues.

A recently released study found that MIT students not only performed well in the class, but also -- at an institution known for its rigor -- reported feeling less stress and having more flexibility.
