I love writing for Inside Higher Ed.

In 2010, Scott Jaschik offered me a job as a blogger and I will be forever grateful for the opportunity. Writing for Inside Higher Ed has given me a steady source of ideas, community, and guidance for the past 9 years.

However, it's time for a change. This is my 481st post on IHE. It will be my last one.

I've decided to make another radical career leap. Back in 2010, and after I started writing part-time for IHE, I quit my full-time job at a university to create a digital engagement consultancy. Since that time, I've worked with hundreds of institutions/organizations as a speaker, writer, and consultant. It's been a wonderful experience.

However, since moving back to the U.S. from the UK this year, I've started thinking about what's next. What's next in the context of digital transformation and engagement in higher education? And, where can I make the most impact with my experience/skillset?

The answer came from a start-up in Scotland. Career paths are never a straight line and this was no exception.

When I announced that I would be moving from the UK earlier this year, I was contacted by GeckoEngage to give a keynote on digital transformation at their client forum in Edinburgh. I had no idea that a few months later, I would be starting a new role with the company as VP of Digital Strategy.

I'll be sharing more details about my new role over on my social media channels, but for now, this is it. The last post.

Thank you so much for reading, commenting, and sharing.
